A group of people arrive at Mitchell's Inn, located in a remote location in the Catskills Mountains. An ice storm knocks out power and phone lines to the hotel and there is no cell reception. Soon a series of murders occurs which leads the guests to all suspecting each other. there was a good amount of suspense in the book and a sense of being stuck in this hotel. Some of the characters decisions didn't make a lot of sense, such as leaving one body in the middle of the lobby without knowing how long they were going to be stranded there.
