8. Thanksgiving (US) – November 28: On the fourth Thursday each November, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving by enjoying good food with their families and friends!
🍂 Read a book where characters celebrate Thanksgiving or meet with family/friends for dinner. You can also read a book categorized on Goodreads as sports romance to commemorate Thanksgiving Day football games, a book where a character eats any food typically associated with the holiday (turkey, pie, potatoes, etc), or a book with brown anywhere on its cover.
9. Chemistry Week (UK): During the first full week this November, Chemistry Week (UK) celebrates the chemical sciences with the 2024 theme of “chemistry is shaping the future.” The impact of chemistry – from the development of medicines, to solutions to water and energy problems, to even the manufacturing process of our clothing – touches all aspects of our lives. In 1993, this weekly holiday became an annual celebration.
🍂 Read a book with a character who works in a medical, science, or manufacturing profession. You can also read a book set in any United Kingdom country (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland), a book where someone takes an environmentally-friendly action (such as recycling), or a book with the numbers of 19 or 93 anywhere in its page count or publication year.
10. Reader's Choice: 🍂 Read any book of your choice.
