Everywhere I go on Goodreads I'm seeing members frustrated about not getting their notifications.

Goodreads has stopped sending emails for pretty much everything, & Goodreads being Goodreads did it without any prior warning.

Here is the notice that appeared in 'Help.' (I'm not a member of Help, but it has been linked to in a number of groups I'm a member of)
https://help.goodreads.com/s/announce...

If you got notifications under the bell only that has been changed too. I'm finding the simplest thing to do is check Notify me when people comment
which appears below the last comment in a thread- or you can click Add to my Update Feed which appears when you are making a comment - but usually I don't want my comments going into my feed.

Almost all my groups are quieter now. 🥴

Reading the Detectives still seems about the same. Even the Librarians Group is quieter - mainly because people weren't getting notifications when librarians had a question about their requests.

This is such a frustrating site!

Cphe | 79 comments I messaged a couple of GR's friends and left messages in another group after the hurricanes in the US just to check they are okay but have got no reply.

It's been really frustrating and worrying to some extent.

That would be concerning!

Cphe | 79 comments Two of them I've "known" since the old Amazon board days.

I would like to know that they were "okay"

Yes, the detectives group seems the same for me, as well

I hope this helps - I live a couple hours from the N.C. mountains, and have friends and family in Florida, the two areas hit hardest in hurricanes Helene and Milton - it has been slow going to get electricity, and then internet back for people. Asheville, NC still doesn’t have water, I think - the devastation is unbelievable!

I am sorry there is no way to contact people, I saw on our local news some Asheville and surrounding area residents are still unaccounted for after Helene tore through our mountains.

Cphe | 79 comments Thanks Susan, one I've heard from in reply to my board entry - apparently he didn't get my email.

The other one I'm hoping that he sees the entry and eventually replies.

I thought I'd done something wrong--I was getting so many fewer notifications quite suddenly, and none summarizing messages from my Groups' discussion threads. Sigh.
