Vavita | 159 comments 1. How many books did you read during this readathon? Did you have any favorites? How many books did you finish?
I read 4 books. I finished 2 of them:Night of the Mannequins by Stephen Graham Jones and Sacrificios humanos by María Fernanda Ampuero. I am still reading From Below by Darcy Coates and Abnormal Statistics by Max Booth III.

2. Did you accomplish your goals for this readathon?
I had no plans as I thought as I was not going to participate. I just had fun!

3. How did your snacks and meals work out? Are there things you would change about the food and beverages side of your readathon for next time?
I only had shrimp salad. I didn’t do any special snacks or drinks.

4. Did you enjoy this readathon? What was the most successful part of your readathon? What would you change for next time?
I enjoyed it and will not change a thing. Maybe I will avoid participating in other readathon at the same time as it was overwhelming.

5. Will you be continuing your readathon reading past the end of our official readathon?
Yes! It is Sunday and I have nothing else to do!

Nona | 138 comments 1. How many books did you read during this readathon? Did you have any favorites? How many books did you finish?

I read from 5 books and finished 2 of them: Life of Pi and A Dowry of Blood.

2. Did you accomplish your goals for this readathon?

Yes, I wanted to have more hours than usual where I read for most of the hour, which I did succeed at. However, that may have contributed to me burning out a bit earlier than usual. Still, I enjoyed being reading focused for longer stretches of time.

3. How did your snacks and meals work out? Are there things you would change about the food and beverages side of your readathon for next time?

I didn't cook something in advance like I usually do because I already had some leftovers to finish for my main meal, which was convenient and worked out great.

4. Did you enjoy this readathon? What was the most successful part of your readathon? What would you change for next time?

Yes! I experimented with mostly sticking to one book until I finished it instead of jumping around between a bunch like I usually do. I'm not sure I enjoyed that as much, but I'm glad I gave it a try.

5. Will you be continuing your Readathon reading past the end of our official readathon?

Not this time because I have stuff I need to get done today. But I am enjoying the book I just started during the last sprint (Severance), so I will probably try to get through as much of that as I can today.

1. How many books did you read during this readathon? Did you have any favorites? How many books did you finish? I read from 4 different books, but only finished 1.

2. Did you accomplish your goals for this readathon? Not my official goals. I wanted to beat my record of time actually spent reading (record was 16 hrs set in 2020), but I only managed to actually read for 10 hrs & 46 minutes. I am just getting old and tend to doze off, etc. I also wanted to read 1000 pages, but only managed to read 482 pages.

3. How did your snacks and meals work out? Are there things you would change about the food and beverages side of your readathon for next time? I need something not carby or sugary. Something with more protein to it. I'll be thinking about it for next time. For meals we just did Uber Eats, which worked out well so I think I'll like do that again next time.

4. Did you enjoy this readathon? What was the most successful part of your readathon? What would you change for next time? I always love when I can have time just to focus on reading. I think next time I will wait to "check in" online until afternoon hours (about 6 hrs in for me) and keep my morning reading momentum going for as long as I can.

5. Will you be continuing your readathon reading past the end of our official readathon? I will continue reading as I started 3 books that I haven't finished yet. However, I won't be tracking my time or pages read.

I enjoy having a nice breakfast on readathon day, so I pre-make an omelette the night before and make sure I have fresh fruit and bread. I'll continue that tradition.

How many books did you read?
Read 2 books finished both of them
Clint Smith - Counting Decent - 85 pg - poetry
Jack London - The Iron Heel - 300 pg - #Sci-Fi/dystopia
Total hours participating: 12 hr. - read total 9 hours in my books.

2. Did you accomplish your goals for this readathon?
Yes, enjoy reading  at least 1 book and finishing it.
Looking back, I planned too many small novellas but
decided to just concentrate on a large book.
Next time no novellas!
This year the book I finished is for November #SciFiMonth 2024.

3. How did your snacks and meals work out?
The day before the Readathon I made
Chicken Soup (lunch soup and salad)
and made Trappist Beer Stew for dinner...delicious!
No snacks.

4. Did you enjoy this readathon?
Yes, readathon's force me to plan ahead,  my books and get all my
errands/chores  (grocery shop, laundry etc) done
...so I have nothing else to do but enjoy my books
I did not read into the late hours of the night. I was not
prepared to upset my "sleep" for a few more hours of reading.

5. Will you be continuing your readathon reading past the end of our official readathon?
Yes. I would like to  use the "Readathon method"  next month on 1 or 2 Saturdays if I can manage it. I like the planning and the concentraed reading blocks.
I do take notes while reading on my laptop. That takes time but I need some reminders about what I read for my writing a blogpost.
Also I can use my Personal Readathon Log on Goodreads group to track my progress if I create my own "readathon" Saturdays.
