It all culminates when Josie and Ray come under fire from Nick Gosnell and get abducted with Ray injured. When he later dies, Nick takes Josie to the secret cave, preparing to rape her before the chief bursts in and saves her, dying in the process. He also names her as acting chief as his final act. What did you make of all this with Nick and Sherri Gosnell continuing a human trafficking operation first created by Alton with the complicity of most in law enforcement?

I was still on the fence about the Chief when he showed up at the bunker. I was sad he didn't show up sooner and could have saved Ray. I was sad he died. I don't think Josie has the temperament to be Chief.

Alton, Nick and Sherri were sick, depraved individuals. Every Lae enforcement officer involved should be stuck in a dark pit where the sun don't shine.
