This is the fourth book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. It is a young adult fantasy based on Greek mythology but is set in the modern world and features teenage protagonists. Percy and his friends are on a mission to stop traitorous Luke and the Titan army from using the Labyrinth as a secret passage to invade Camp Half-Blood. Percy continues to struggle with his identity as the son of Poseidon. There is a hint of a love triangle among Percy, Annabeth, and Rachel, but this storyline is not fully developed. Grover, Tyson, and Nico also play key roles. This book is a fast-paced action-packed adventure. It serves to build the tension and set the stage for the overarching war between the Olympian gods and the Titans, which will (presumably) be the subject of the series finale. The book covers parts of Greek myths related to Daedalus, Icarus, Pan, Calypso, Athena, and others. It is a story of friendship, increasing responsibility, loyalty, and heroism. I am not the target audience, but it was a nice break from my usual fare.

KateNZ | 4100 comments The library didn’t come through with this in time for me to read it in October, which is a shame - I’m enjoying the series though I was slightly underwhelmed by Titan’s Curse. Glad this one was good. I do love Tyson and Nico!

Joy D | 10083 comments I tend to be a bit more lenient in my ratings of books that are targeted to a younger audience. I think it's a great way to introduce Greek mythology. I like Tyson and Nico, too.
