Related to the word “Intergalactic” Dictionary.com defines intergalactic as: “of, existing, or occurring in the space between galaxies.” For this prompt, we’re looking for any book that is somehow related to the word, “intergalactic.”

The word “intergalactic” could be in the title, subtitle, or series title. You could also consider a title with any other words that evoke the feeling of deep space, such as “cosmos,” “galaxy,” “celestial,” “interstellar,” “interplanetary,” “stars,” etc.

Intergalactic could also relate to the plot or theme of the book. This may or may not be sci-fi and may or may not involve actual space travel. (While the official definition of intergalactic is related to the “space between galaxies,” we would consider anything space-related to fit this prompt.)

You might also choose a novel set on Earth featuring an astronaut or astronomer as the main character, a book cover with stars / galaxies on it, a non-fiction read about the Milky Way, a sci-fi novel set in another galaxy, etc. The possibilities are endless! Get creative and have fun!

Here is the link for our Goodreads List, feel free to add your suggestions to it!

Hilde Helseth | 220 comments Since I haven't read Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein yet, I'll read it for this prompt. I'm also reading it for prompt #9 - A character-driven novel.

DaNae | 89 comments Since I will need to hack out an 800+book this month, I'm sticking with middle-grade for the other three. When possible I like to see if I can read books in my elementary library collection, to further the book rec's I can give my students.

I know the moon is not technically intergalactic, but I have a lot by Stuart Gibbs on my shelves and have yet to read a one, Space Case.

Adrienne | 122 comments I'm reading Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time about why the universe started, the big bang theory, black holes, when the universe will end, etc. So far, it's fascinating. I'm a science minded person and this book makes me realize how little I truly understand.

Michele Olson | 516 comments The book I was reading wasn't working for me, so I changed to the children's book The Bad Guys in Intergalactic Gas. It was cute if you like fart jokes.
