Seana | 432 comments Publisher's Weekly is celebrating the 25 years of existence of the NYRB imprint by focusing on one book published each year since they started, including this one. I'm happy to report that I have read a fair number of them, and in great part due to the book club here. Life and Fate, Berlin Alexanderplatz, I'm talking to you.

Thanks Seana, I am way behind you, but the list gives us a reference for future nominations. One thing nice about NYRB is that there seems no limit on the number of memorable and enjoyable books they publish.

Seana | 432 comments Yes, Sam and even this list alone mentions a lot of other books to add to the giant tbr pile in the sky.

Seana | 432 comments Also, I was quite surprised that they only started this publishing venture in 1999. Although I realize that that might seem like a lifetime ago to some...

Wow, that's a lot! According to my shelves I've read 30, but I only have another 8-10 at home.

WndyJW | 380 comments I’ve been buying copies whenever I saw them in used book stores, regardless of the title, I assume it will be good, and when I see the 30% off sale I get the subscription.

Sam | 246 comments I have discarded most of my paper copies but have a number of ecopies. My present subscription is lapsed because I only managed to read one of the twelve from last time and prefer the ecopies for my vision. Everand has been keeping up with NYRB releases if you are a U.S. member. I am not sure if this extends to members from other countries.

Melody Bush (mab4ksu) | 16 comments I, too, am drawn to this publisher and was a member of their monthly subscription for a few years. I couldn't keep up so have abandoned that. Even so, I've read about 50 titles and have been very impressed.

Emmeline | 107 comments I was recently at a Blackwells in the UK and they had an entire shelf of remainders from NYRB at 5 pounds each. It was painful to walk away from them. I did buy Three Summers, which Sam proposed as a summer read last year (it didn't win, but I hope to resurrect that idea this summer).

WndyJW | 380 comments I admire your ability to walk away from £5 editions of nyrb, Emily!

It helped that I was travelling with only a backpack and had already bought eleven other books...

WndyJW | 380 comments 11 books with only a backpack? That had to make the journey home a bit difficult!
