question
So, what are your theories?

So, the books ending is hella hella ambiguous. Do you think
That Tara's theory was correct? The dream theory? Some other thing? A mix?
My personal theory is that
Tara's theory was true, sprinkled with the backstabbing vis a vis Nico causing the fight. Not because Jill thought she'd be with Nico forever, or even very long, but because Simone went out of her way to hurt Jill. I also don't think Jill wanted to stay/go to college in Italy because of Nico. It feels very in line with her love of art and history, as well as starting with a clean slate. But everyone immediately mischaracterizes her as suddenly being boy crazy and infatuated, which feels intentional. A subtle bit of character depth, but needed. I called Simone being the troll though. I don't think it's what caused the fight. It'd be too random. It also feels very pertinent that exactly what Weeks warned, and told her to be cautious of, is exactly what happened. All of her memories that cropped up only ever happened after she was pushed, or informed of things. The only one that wasn't like that was her memory that happened organically (Her and Simone together having wine).
The character we get in this book, in my personal opinion, doesn't line up with the image and conception any of the people assuming she did it have of her. Not her parents (her dad fucking sucksssssssssssss and so does her stepmom. Over a million dollars in a year and he's stingy with child support, and his wife is throwing a fit over her wanting to go to college in italy??? insane.)
I don't think she had it in her to hurt Simone. My guess is that Simone hurt herself like Tara thought, either because of the fight or to get Jill's attention and sympathy back. And of course, Jill was rushing to the hospital and took a curve too hard or Simone grabbed the wheel.
Also I'm gonna be so real, for like 90% of the book I was picturing Simone as a modelesque black girl with insane beautiful curls, so finding out she's actually tall and blonde gave me whiplash LMFAO (The dark haired one is described as curvy, which is used for Jill earlier in the book, and she's compared to two darker haired 50s/60s hollywood starlets by the teacher iirc)
