Are You Finding New Interracial Books To Read?

Though I'm not a huge fan of shifter stories, I've been reading Shelly Laurenston's Badger series plus a few other of her books. They are filled with humour, diverse cast of characters (a few with black women as lead characters), and they are set in NYC and surrounding area which is always a fun idea for me.

We both have some of the don't read type stories in common. And when you add, the secret baby lunacy or the fake marriage crap, there is literally nothing left to read.

Is that the new interracial book that you have found for yourself to read?
I don’t read stories like that.

I don’t read shapeshifter stories. Half human, half animal is not my cup of tea. The characters have to be 100% human.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention secret baby stories. I do not like those stories. The characters seem to be forced into a relationship, because of the baby. Fake marriage is a no, no as well.
I like best friends to lovers stories, but not when the hero is a playboy and the heroine is trying to find him someone to be with and all the women he gets with is not right for him, because the heroine is the one for him, but he doesn’t realize it until the book is almost over. That goes for the heroine being a playgirl and the hero is on the sideline waiting for the heroine to realize he’s the one for her.

Sadly, there are few good quality IR books now. I believe you can purchase print or digital copies of a book from Amazon. Don't hold me to this as I have not purchased a print copy of a book since 2010.

The series does deal with cheating, but I do navigate the real world consequences that come with it. Featured tropes are forbidden romance, workplace romance, and friends to lovers.
Feel free to check them out.

I also just recently read a book called The Colonel’s Contraband by Adrianne Summer that I really enjoyed. It’s historical though, but not your typical slave/master storyline.

Yes, pickings are slim indeed. I think I can count on one hand the number of new stories that I have read the last two years, because of exactly the type of plots you listed. I find them incredibly stupid - and life is just too darn short to do that sort of stupid.
Add mafia/bad boy to the list of ridiculousness as well.

Winner, winner chicken dinner! So much this. I hate that so many writers seem to be writing just to throw in all the tropes.
But... I did just read Forget Me Not by K. Carr and lissseennn.... it felt like old skool.
Fair warning: If you read it, it is very angsty, it is over two volumes and you'll want to crotch-punch the hero, but you also understand...
Anyway, I loved it. Here is my review for both volumes. The Vol2 review has some spoilers from the first vol.
Volume 1
Volume 2

Books by Nia Arthurs (Clean.. sometimes too clean for me, not even a kiss until the very end in one of them I read)
The knights bride by Juliette Caruso
The Fancy by Mercedes Keys
Unfrozen by Regine Abel
Really most any Regine Abel book, the heros are monsters and aliens though. My favorite in her I married series is I married a Naga. Most of the women are WOC.
Elizabeth Stephens "taken to..." Series. Again Black women and aliens. Amazing books.
Alpha by Tiya Rayne
Rescued by her relic by Paulina Woods
A gamble at sunset by Vanessa Riley
Deena's deception by G. S. Carr
Books by Tierra Cox
These are just some, I have many many more I've read or on my to read list if you go check out my page.

This is so darn stupid...

I don’t just read black woman/white man interracial books. Maybe it’s hard for me to find new interracial books, because I don’t read erotic stories, first person stories, mafia stories, same sex stories, billionaire stories and boss/employee stories. I don’t even care for the “Hallmark” type of stories either.
I like to read dangerous bad boy stories and I can find a lot of those type of stories away from interracial books, which by the way, they need more of those.
