The US Attorney informs Sam that the grand jury declined to recommend charges. However, Ramsey has indicated that he’s going to file civil charges. Was this the right decision by the grand jury? Do you think Ramsey will prevail with a civil trial?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1801 comments Sam has once again gotten off lightly. As despicable as Ramsay is, assaulting a fellow officer is unacceptable. Sam has serious anger and control issues.... what would have happened if Ramsay had broken is neck in the fall? It would be murder

Ramsay actions would not endear him to the jury in a civil trial. Sam (and more importantly, Nick) is very popular. The jury would probably side with Sam.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Agree with everything you said, Lauren.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Ramsey's injuries were what made this an issue. If she had just decked him and he got nothing more than a bruised ego, it likely would have ended there. With the popularity of both Nick and Sam, there was no way they would have gotten a conviction on her.

Ramsey definitely has a civil case, but I don't think a jury will give him more than a token settlement, if anything.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with everyone. Sam was wrong, even though I would want to punch him in the nose myself.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments The first thing we teach out toddlers is to use your words not your fists. Sam needed to use her words and I'm sure she could have cut Ramsey to ribbons, instead of her fists. Although sometimes action is so much more satisfying.
