For me it was either sea of monsters or the lost hero like they were still good but they were missing something (well we all know what the lost hero was missing)

Lost hero .

Sea of Monsters wasn't great but it's definitely Lost Hero followed closely by Son of Neptune.

I dnf the first KC book in Swedish prob gonna give it a another try tho in English

The daughter of the deep was like so boring, nothing ever happened until the last 2 chapters. I was like, when does the giant octopus come in?? (It came in on the third last chapter)

Respect for Romeo though

gem and his guns were iconic but nothing happened

Son of Neptune was just really slow for me

I liked them all, but in some of them were missing points

atm son of neptune which was just boring and the first book of TOA which put me into a reading slump...

Burning Maze, I feel it is just depressing, and I may have thrown that book when I read of a certain person's death. Also Lost Hero, because it just doesn't feel that interesting to me.

ik people dont like sea of monsters but looking back, it has so many details revealing just how dark percy's mental state was at AGE 13, because: i remember when percy and tyson were on the boat and percy had thought tyson had drowned. and percy literally expressed how he wished he would drown too- and there are so many other details that are often overlooked because percy is so hilarious ... but i get what you mean !! the first time i read sea of monsters well, it wasnt very memorable i guess :)

Daughter of the deep was boring
I ship Solangelo so bad, but The sun and The star didn't do it for me
The wrath of the triple goddess and the chalice of the gods made no sense to me, cause in toa it shows Percy going to college

For me probably son of Neptune or wrath of the triple Goddess (this is probably an unpopular opinion, idk)

Doesn't it say, in TOA that Percy goes to college, anyway?

I just finished the Mark of Athena and I’m not allowed to read the House of Hades

I honestly wish I hadn't.😕 I didn't finish it.

I say Wrath of the triple Goddess, bc it just isn't the same anymore. I wasn't bad, but just didn't hit the same

Definitely the first books of the new pjo trilogy he's writing, Chalice of the Gods and Wrath of the Triple Goddess, nothing can beat the og 🥲🙌

I almost stopped reading the Wrath of the Triple Goddess because it got sooo boring 😑

Aw man, I just got my hands on chalice of the gods lol. I mean, it’s not like I expect it to be the original, obviously. And it kinda seems like it would end up dragging the series as a whole out, but I guess I’m just hoping.

It still has some interesting parts in it though 😅. Percy even is face to face with Athena and it’s still funny like the og series.

Oh, I mean yeah I’m still going to read it and I have no doubt it’ll still be enjoyable! I’m mostly just curious what other people think and tend to be a little bit of a critic with stuff I like/pos

So far, Sea Of Monsters, probably. Which I hate to say because I absolutely love the Odyssey. It’s actually one of my favorite books. However, it just felt a bit slow, if that makes sense? I wouldn’t say it was BAD, but it falls a little short compared to the other books in pjo.

That totally makes sense! I felt the same thing about the Sea Of Monsters, it was short and not the most interesting in my opinion. The rest of the books in the series totally made up for it though!

For me, yeah it was definitely the Sea of Monsters. And actually, I've seen that a LOT of sequels (as in the second book in a series) are the worst out of the bunch, because when authors write the first book, they don't know whether or not their gonna continue the series, so they have the first one have a satisfying enough ending in case they cant write a sequel, but enough room for there to potentially BE one. So the second one always feels kinda rushed and lackluster. You know what I mean?

The Sun and the Star

It felt so wrong, like the style just didn't fit. It felt like a fanfic and not exactly a good one. It also like completely flipped Mr D's personality on its head. It just doesn't feel like the quality measures up to the others.

Okay, I do kinda agree on that front. Mr. D DID feel very different. But other that that, what made you feel this way? Just curious.

I'm not sure but, the tone wasn't the same and the whole thing with the coco puffs being called children of Nico and Akhlys (I'm definitely spelling that wrong) was weird in a way that was very uncomfortable to me. It's difficult to articulate exactly what and why I feel, but the book just didn't sit right with me, and I had to restart many times and push myself to finish.

That does make sense. I agree that the whole Cocoa Puffs thing WAS a little weird, and the tone was a little different, even for me. I think that the tone change was probably just because it wasn't just Rick Riordan writing it. Remember; this is his first collaboration with another author. I also think I'm very biased, since I'm a BIG Nico fan.

It may just be because I read the books all in one go without pausing between, but the whole Will and Nico thing at the end of BoO felt like it came out of nowhere
