Vittoria Elizabeth (obstinateheadstronggirl) | 1 comments I’ve seen the movies. I want to read the books. But Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets don’t really interest me. I don’t even really love those movies. So, if I’ve seen the movies, can I just start the books with Azkaban? Or do I really need to read the first two books?

Shalendra Tiwari (_ruinreads) | 1 comments if you already know the story then it's not compulsory

Nina Nikolova | 9 comments It's better to read the 1st and the 2nd book at first. There are things you wouldn't understand just by watching the movies

Sonja | 11 comments I would definitely start from the beginning. The movies are quite similar, but there are things like a party in the second book that are super fun to read that aren't in the movies.

Poetica_reads | 5 comments Yes you absolutely should! It’s the only way🥹 book one is good, it’s just filled with nostalgia of childhood

The first two movies are just like the books, so you can skip them, I skipped the 2nd book but still understood the 3rd book

Brook Bunch | 67 comments Yes, you need to read the first two. The books are so much more detailed and those details carry over. Your gonna get to book 5 and realize you have no idea what there talking about when the mention Norbert or Norberta
