First, an apology from your host. This year has been an incredibly difficult one and I have not made the rounds among the climbers as I had in the past. I've always tried to visit everyone at least once and I didn't make it. I just want you all to know that I love that you enjoy this challenge and carry on with your climbs even if your host wanders off the mountain slopes and seems to forget you. Thank you for joining me this year and thank you to all who have visited other climbers and cheered them on.

It's hard to believe that it's time to start thinking about next year's challenges. But 2025 reading challenges have started popping up, so I decided to get the next versions of my TBR challenges up and running. I'm hoping to find more time to visit my fellow climber's in the new year. Hope to see you on the slopes!

CinCO | 124 comments Love that you keep setting these up so we can work on our TBRs! I had actually looked for the new PS challenge a couple weeks ago, but didn't see it, so I'll have to check again.

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) | 66 comments Nothing to apologize for, Bev! You already do an amazing job setting up this challenge year after year!
I'm not even finished with this year's climb and I'm already looking ahead to 2025!

That said, I hope 2025 is kinder to you!!

Pamela | 101 comments Bev, it's been such a pleasure to have this group to keep track of taming the everlasting Mount TBR. Thank you for hosting all these years! I'll be there in 2025 as well.

Sorry to hear you had a difficult year, and no apology is needed here. I do hope the next year is a better one for you in all the ways that matter.

Nell There's no need to apologize. We all have lives and some times are better than others. Thank you for hosting this challenge despite having some tough spaces this year.

I'm falling far short of my 2024 reading goal. Looking forward to a better year for both of us. And more time to enjoy reading 🤗

Jo Ann (packerbackerhere) | 3 comments Dear Bev,
Real life does creep up on all of us throughout the year...and we are only human...I am sure we have all been there at one time or another REPEATEDLY...
But I would like to thank you for placing another notice for us for that "one more mountain..." to climb and enjoy, no matter where, when or how we get there...The best thing is that WE are Together, enjoying each other's climbs, accomplishments and the books that opens the next world for us to be in and relish!
Enjoy All and see you at the next Summit!
Happy Holidays to All!
Jo Ann

Bea I have a question. I tend to carry on with old challenges until I finish them. For your group, Bev, it seems that you start over the climbing new each year. I can do that.

Yet, I hate to leave the 2024 mountain climb (Mt. Ararat, which I am just starting) before I reach the top of the mountain. I am wondering what others do in this situation.

Would I abandon Mt. Ararat or restart it again in 2025? Or do I start climbing from the lowest peak in 2025 and forget Mt. Ararat?

Bea: The current year's climb ends with Dec 31st--so your last book in 2024 is your last step up the mountains. Books read in 2025 will count towards a new climb in the new year--but it starts again at ground zero.

That was what I thought. So, now I have to decide whether I will continue to work on my current climb or just wait until 2025 begins.

So, if I continue on Mt. Ararat and only get part way, then in 2025 I will be starting it from the bottom with no books counted toward it...48 books to read. Got it.

Conny | 85 comments I, for one, feel thoroughly appreciated and well cared-for simply because you set up this group every year, Bev :) I'm sorry you've had a difficult year and hope the next one will be better. Please don't worry <3
I reached my committed peak a couple of weeks ago and will keep logging books for the year toward the next, but I don't think I'll be able to clear the next threshold. Also, I'll be heading straight over to the new group and sign up for next year. By now, it's tradition!

Hi Bev! No need to apologize! Life does get busy, and each year it seems to get busier. I love the challenges and that it helps me to keep track of my reading. See you next year!
