A Season with Mom: Love, Loss, and the Ultimate Baseball Adventure by Katie Russell Newland

If you're looking for a book on dealing with grief and doing something outside of your comfort zone, sure. If you're looking for a baseball book (like I was), not so much.

I read Hey Dad! by Brian Doyle

It was a cute story about a 13 year old who doesn't want to be on a road trip and thinks her dad is the most embarrassing person on the planet. I enjoyed it.

Would you recommend this book? Yes. A sweet story about a family trying to recreate their bonds and new ways of relating on a road trip across several northern Midwest states. Not overly saccharine. As an eldest sister, I could relate.
