Good to know. All the Colors... was a friend's choice for our online bookclub for January, but I've really like the author before.

Yay! So glad you enjoyed it. All the books are novella sized except for one. Murderbot is a hoot!

Also; kudos on knocking out the first book on your challenge!

message 19: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie | 705 comments The Dark Wives was a really good addition to the Vera series. So 2 down. The Full Moon Coffee Shop was odd and didn't appeal, so one DNF from my main 12.

message 20: by Alondra, Moderator Schmoderator (new)

Alondra Miller | 4190 comments Mod
Sorry for the 2 DNFs, Bonnie! That's tough. I was wondering if something was lost in translation with the Full Moon Coffee Shop. For it to be so short, and it was a DNF; I will steer clear. Yikes!

message 21: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie | 705 comments Enjoyed A Death in Duck book 2 in a cozy series (chaplain Lindsay Harding) which is a bit less cozy than many cozy series and has unique characters- plus set in NC where we like to spend time at the coast.

Michelle (marcher08) | 1705 comments Not bad Bonnie. Hope you enjoy the rest of the list.

Lillie | 1686 comments Love that you found a 5* on this list, that's always great (also agree, All Systems Red is such a fantastic book, have reread it several times). Keeping fingers crossed that you get several more 5* reads :)

Great update, and you have been doing really well.

Kudos Bonnie!! Woot!!

Will you do a 2nd list?? Inquiring minds want to know. ;)

message 27: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie | 705 comments Seven done and one in process ( The Sweet Blue Distance by Sara Donati which I am loving. This is one of those long books series I've been reading forever (historical fiction with romance, but also serious themes.) Also 2 DNF books, but still a good number read 4 months in.

message 28: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie | 705 comments Challenge is going well- 11 books read or listened to. Only one 5 star read (All Systems Red but six 4 stars, two 3 stars and one 2 star. Also two did not finish. Three more options to go.

message 29: by Michelle (new)

thanks, I was getting worried when I disliked the two I DNF pretty early. I know I'll like/love at least one of my three choices left- maybe all three.

message 32: by Bonnie (last edited Aug 02, 2025 08:23AM) (new)

Bonnie | 705 comments 11 read and 1 in process- so I may officially finish this month. I do have two more I may read, though, and I DNF two of the twelve plus 4.

Congrats on completing your challenge. Which one will it be?

message 36: by Bonnie (last edited Aug 10, 2025 01:13PM) (new)

Bonnie | 705 comments Probably the Medicine Woman of Galveston. I usually get into historical fiction reading in fall/winter :) Plus I have it on Kindle and the Welcome to the H-D Bookshop I have on a very long Libby hold.
