My goal this year in GR's was 170 and currently at 168.
I want to accomplish all 52 of the ATY prompts and maybe do a few other challenges in this group. I belong to several other groups and do "probably" way to many challenges each year. I sure do love to read📚📚📚📚📚📚📚

I sometimes set smaller goals, for example I wanted to finish two series I was reading before the end of the year. I have finished one and am super close to finishing the other.
For next year, one of my goals will be to read some of the books I own and have not read yet.

My ATY goal was 45 and I'm at 50 and will probably finish.
My PS goal was 30 and I'm currently at 32.
I might do 50 books again next year.
I plan to do all 10 anniversary prompts
I plan to read a book set in each Canadian province
I plan to read 10 series books.
I don't know how many ATY prompts to sign up for. Maybe 35? Maybe 40? I won't finish next year because of the anniversary prompts.

I finished ATY. I will finish about 8 other challenges by the end of month.

Next year, I think I'll keep my goal to 60 books, but I've committed to finishing the ATY (including the anniversary plots) next year :)

Great work, everyone! Finishing even 40 books in a year puts you in the top ranks of readers, especially in the U.S.
After feeling pressured by GR goals of 75-100 books for a few years, I realized I could set my goal to start with at something I know I will do and then I can increase it as the year goes on. Then I retired and then came the pandemic, when I joined a lot more GR groups and challenges. I now read (or listen to) over 200 books a year. But I do sometimes wonder if I would enjoy it more if I concentrated on fewer books. In the new year, I would like to read one longer book (over 450 pages) every month or at least every quarter. I do own plenty of them but keep putting them off for shorter books.

I completed the ATY and PS challenges. I have a soft goal of reading 100 books this year, so I've lined up some short stuff for december, but I'm not really pushing it.
For the past two years I've had a goal of reading or ditching books that have been on my goodreads TBR for more than 5 years. This year there were 30 books and I have gotten that down to 5, with one I'm currently reading. For the other 4 I have tried a sample and so I know I am still interested in them. I consider that a win!
I am an extremely goal-oriented person. My dog is food-motivated, I am list-motivated. A checkmark next to a task is like a little gold star sticker on the top of my paper. Most of my goals will carry over to next year: I'll do ATY and PS again. I'll do the read or ditch for books added in 2019 (only 14 of them!). And I've decided to track how many books with 'murder' in the title I can clear off my TBR just as a fun way of thinning the herd (44 currently).

This past year, I have been working on completing the challenge in order with no rereads and haven’t gotten ahead until this fall. I think, I have two books left (I’m behind on updating my personal thread).
It has been great reading in order this year, but I’m also mentally worn out and need next year to be easier. So, I’ve decided not to read in order, but if I’m unsure what to read next I’ll definitely look to see what that week’s planned prompt is. It has been less stressful just focusing on one book a week and not rushing to finish the challenge earlier, so I’d like to take my time again next year and only count one book a week until the fall.
I’d also like to read the books, I hoped to read this year but didn’t.

But I'd kind of like to read less in 2025! Or at least strike a healthier balance between reading & other things in my life, which might just come down to better time management/less dicking around on my phone. I sew all my own clothes & I have definitely done FAR more reading than sewing this year. My wardrobe is in a state. I have a lot that needs to replaced, & so many ideas for things I WANT to make, but I can't read & sew at the same time unless I get into audiobooks.
Other goals I have are to complete the ATY challenge with backlist only (with the obvious exception of the published in 2025 book). I read SO MANY new releases, which is awesome, but I really want to catch up on books I missed when my daughter was little & I was in the baby trenches & not reading so much. & I hope to read in order this year & pace myself to just one book a week instead of finishing the challenge in three months like a maniac.
My other big book-ish goal is to log a full year volunteering at my local Friends of the Library store. This week will be my second shift. I am sorting & pricing books & it seems like a lot of fun! & there are perks, like discounts in the bookstore, & we are allowed to "check books out" library-style. We gets tons of donated & deaccesioned new releases, so I should be up to my neck in books on the cheap! I would also like to volunteer at my local book fair (Portland Book Festival) again this year, maybe something working directly with authors this time.

Yes, I also sometimes find myself spending time looking at unimportant things on my phone (OED word of the year is "Brain Rot"). I have 2 big knitting & crocheting projects I've barely touched this year. I should make an effort to do them while listening to audiobooks.

LMAO! Same on both accounts! :)

I'd actually passed my GR Challenge goal of 200 books by the start of December, so I've extended it to 225 and I'm currently on 215!
Other than that, my main goals are the various challenges I do. Should finish ATY in the next couple of days. PS is a bit further out, but at least I have books chosen for all my remaining tasks. Then there are various monthly and quarterly ones I do, which I'm in good shape for.

My students think I'm crazy when I tell them that I don't watch TV anymore! This is my third year completing the challenge and I LOVE IT!
