GROUP READ
Our December theme is Kindness and our group read for this month is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, a celebrated classic set during the Great Depression, that is in part a young girl’s coming-of-age story, and in part a drama that explores racial injustice and prejudice, the loss of innocence, as well as the moral nature of human beings.
You can join the discussion or post your review of the book!
You can also vote for our January book with the theme of Cozy, as well as nominate a book for February with the theme of Time!

CHALLENGES
We end the year with two monthly challenges with the theme of Kindness, plus our traditional Advent Calendar Challenge. We have one month left in our fourth quarter challenges, and we’ll post our 2025 yearly challenges this month!

Monthly challenges
Kindness Counts, is an open challenge to read books about kindness to self, family, others, or the planet.
Spreading Kindness has prompts inspired by Random Acts of Kindness.
Advent Calendar, is perfect for gifting yourself a daily poem, short story, or chapter through the season.

Quarterly challenges
With Balancing It Out, based on the five elements in Chinese culture, you may choose a prompt or open-ended challenge.
Fall Into Books: Autumn Reading Party is an open challenge celebrating Autumn’s festive party themes.

Yearly challenges can help you reach your 2024 reading goals before the end of the year. Any books you’ve read since the start of the year count for these, so it’s not too late to join. Check out A Guide to the 2024 Yearly Challenges to learn more!

Start planning your 2025 reading as we introduce next year’s fifteen yearly challenges this month. Learn more about them in A Guide to 2025 Yearly Challenges .

Do you have an idea for a new challenge? Please let us know! Most of our quarterly and monthly challenges grow from our members’ suggestions. We love hearing your creative ideas!
