If you want to reserve some comments for your I N G and O columns, I can delete this comment after you read it so you have space.

No need to delete comments, I will edit the first one to add more books.

So far I've read:
1. Augustus by John Williams - *****
Loved reading the story mostly because of the beautiful prose, and also I liked learning about the rich historical period in which so many fameous poets flourished.
2. The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector - ****
I can see I gave this book 4 stars a few months ago, but I remember feeling like it went completely over my head. I might revisit sometime in the future.
3. The Bookshoop by Penelope Fitzgerald
I only started this one, and even though I liked it well enough, I didn't finish it. I remembered I had watched the movie recently so I lost interest sometime in the middle, probably will not be finishing this one.
I read the "wrong" books by both Dostoyevsky (Crime and Punishment instead of The Brothers Karamazov) and Woolf (To the Lighthouse instead of Orlando), and I might replace them since otherwise I will not be able to make it for sure.
I will read the short stories next, and work my way from the shortest to the longest work of the list. A strategy to at least get most of them :)

As Wobbley says, still lots of time. You are making progress and hopefully enjoying what you are reading (the important part of the challenges).

And yes, Sara, I have been enjoying all of them, even the ones I didn't quite get, as I am looking forward to a reread in the future for both To the Lighthouse and The Hour of the Star.
Crime and Punishment was fantastic, I'm so glad I read that one.

Sounds like you read several good selections. Nice job. I never read my planning lists. I just throw out a few possible titles, but there are always so many books to choose from I rarely complete my list.

4. Far from the Madding Crowd
- and I loved it so much I almost ordered a few more books from Hardy upon finishing it. It took some time to get used to his writing style, the sentences are long, and he makes a point by inverting it multiple times.
There's a lot of empathy, wisdom, intelligence and lyricism emanating from the text and those are qualities which made him instantly one of my favorite authors. I didn't even care for the plot that much, though there's a more than enough drama and plot twists to keep you interested.

Thank you Lynn, that reminds me, there's no end goal in reading, at least not for me, these list are there to be taken as suggestions, not a hard rule lol :)
How lovely that you have discovered you love Hardy. He is one of my very favorite authors and I think one who benefits for re-reads. I'll be looking forward to which of his works you choose next.
You are absolutely right that the lists are suggestions/thoughts and not cut in stone. Enjoy!
