Dan | 1568 comments We have had fourteen group reads this year. There were two ties, or maybe one was a buddy read. Anyway, the 13 topics at the bottom of the list, and this month's current book are the 14 group reads. Which one was your favorite, and why?

Kevan | 33 comments I've only been around since Hodgson's Weird Tales, and since then we had Clark Ashton Smith and Algernon Blackwood.

I'm going to choose CAS as my favourite read of these three. Not so much because of the story plots, for me they were not that strong, instead these stories were the most challenging to read and I believe helped me grow as a reader. My brain was forced to expand it's vocabulary that I can now use to annoy my family with, which makes it a winner.

Rosemarie | 173 comments I haven't had a chance to read as many group read books this year, but I'm generally a fan of the older books-and really hope to get to the works of CAS since I've enjoyed other stories of his. I liked Ambrose Bierce's stories and the Lovecraft books, but I'm a huge fan of Algernon Blackwood so he's my favourite for this year.

Zina (dr_zina) | 296 comments I somehow fell into a straight up obsession with CAS last year. Something about the ...idk, graphicality of his stories just completely blows my mind. It all just pops up off the page and grows 3d and real, like in one of his own stories, and I forget my own troubles in those colorful, infinitely diverse worlds. Don't get me wrong, I really loved Blackwoods book and others we read (I did not get all, was super busy), but Clark Ashton Smith is magic. I listened to several volumes of his on Audible too.
