Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments So either I'm super ambitious or super crazy. Either way my bookcase is literally crashing under the weight of the five million books I have. So we have to make a dent. My first two lists were just BOTM books, and if i can get those off I'm making some progress. The third list were books that have been on previous 12+4 challenges that I didn’t read, yet still are weighing my bookcase down. This list are mostly new books I think I can knock off the bookcase. The more I get off my shelves the more books I can buy. Hehe! So here we go!

My 12:
1. Silver Girl
2. The Exchange
3. The Next Mrs. Parrish
✔️4. Lethal Intent - 2/1
5. Society of Lies
6. Someone Else's Bucket List
✔️7. The Boys from Biloxi - 8/8
✔️8. A Summer Affair - 6/25
9. The Rose Code
10. The Love of my Life
✔️11. Funny Story!- 8/21
12. The Book of Lost Friends

Plus 4:
✔️1. The Dictionary of Lost Words - 7/4
✔️2. Framed: Astonishing True Stories of Wrongful Convictions - 6/14
✔️3. Tokyo Dreaming - 2/23
✔️4. The Little Liar - 5/30

Silver Girl by Elin Hilderbrand The Exchange (The Firm, #2) by John Grisham The Next Mrs. Parrish (Mrs. Parrish, #2) by Liv Constantine Lethal Intent by Cara C. Putman Society of Lies by Lauren Ling Brown Someone Else's Bucket List by Amy T. Matthews The Boys from Biloxi by John Grisham A Summer Affair (Nantucket, #1) by Elin Hilderbrand The Rose Code by Kate Quinn The Love of My Life by Rosie Walsh Funny Story by Emily Henry The Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams Framed Astonishing True Stories of Wrongful Convictions by John Grisham Tokyo Dreaming (Tokyo Ever After, #2) by Emiko Jean The Little Liar by Mitch Albom

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments 1st book finished - Lethal Intent Lethal Intent by Cara C. Putman . 4 stars

This is really a 3.5 star review for me. Here's the big thing I like about this book and this author - you can read a suspense/mystery book without a single curse word. The story itself is interesting, and I'll admit the science part went some over my head. The idea behind this book is scary, especially for those of us who depend on clinical trial for the next good medicine to combat whichever disease we may have. Cara Putman always writes in an extremely tasteful manner. My only negative is I think I just liked her other books more....

I loved the first book Tokyo Ever After and this sequel is just as good! I love being in Japan with Princess Izumi as she tries to figure out love, life and what comes next for her. I'm not sure if the author will continue the series but I really hope she does.

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments 3rd book finished - The Little Liar The Little Liar by Mitch Albom . 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

“...a lie told once is easy to expose, but a lie told a thousand times can look like the truth.
And destroy the world.”

Mitch Albom has written an incredibly beautiful, unique, heart-breaking story about courage, bravery, love, loss, betrayal, survival and forgiveness that grips your heart and soul from page one and doesn't let go even after the final word. A story told by the narrator Truh, a story we need to never forget. If you think you’ve read every story about the Holocaust, think again. This was a side to one of the most horrific tragedies in history I have yet to see or read. At the end of the book the author writes a note where he says, "I wish to acknowledge many others, for teaching me, through their memories, why the phrase 'never again' must be not an expression, but a vow." I could not have said it any better. Read this book, tell others of the horrors that happened called the Holocaust so this can never happen again. I would give this a million stars if goodreads allowed it. Mitch Albom is an exceptional story teller and this book, I feel, may be one of his best.

This is a good one to start with. Although Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life's Greatest Lesson is another good one.

Usually, I go with Favorite Authors within a Certain Genre. So, kind of Try to Organize Alphabetically by Author, so even though on Floor are Organized (at least in my head).

Wish me Luck, certainly look nice when on Bookshelves. I like when people do them by Color, think that looks really Pretty.

Thanks for all you do. Much Appreciated.

Enjoy your Summer 🏖️

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments 4th book finished - Framed: Astonishing True Stories of Wrongful Convictions Framed Astonishing True Stories of Wrongful Convictions by John Grisham . 4 stars

There isn't a book by John Grisham I won't read. And I love to see this side of him - nonfiction, analyzing real cases. This is an extremely eye opening book. It's shocking and even terrifying the mistakes and corruption that happened to not only put but keep innocent people in jail. This is a book I'd recommend everyone read. There's alot to learn about aspects of the criminal justice system that are broken.

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments 5th book finished - A Summer Affair A Summer Affair (Nantucket, #1) by Elin Hilderbrand . 2 stars

I want to start off by saying that while this book wasn't exactly my cup of tea, I still love Elin Hildebrand and her books. This one just didn't sit right with me. I am not the biggest fan of affairs, that trope is hit or miss with me. And sadly in this book it was a miss. I felt the character's storylines were all jumbled and never really came together for me. That ending really fell short. To be honest, it didn't make alot of sense to me. And lastly, I felt this was about 75-100 pages too long, there was alot of "fluff" that could have been cut out.

Having said all of that, while this book didn't hit the mark with me, I do love Elin Hildebrand' books, her writing and will continue to read anything she puts out there.

I'm currently reading 2 other books from this list. So while i got a slow start at the beginning of the year, I'm now on pace to hopefully complete this list by the end of the year.

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments 6th book finished - The Dictionary of Lost Words The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams . 4 stars

"Words define us, they explain us, and, on occasion, they serve to control or isolate us. But what happens when words that are spoken are not recorded?"

As much as I read, I honestly never gave much thought as to how the Dictionary was ever created. While parts of this story are pulled from history, a bigger part is fiction to help us understand how the Dictionary was formed but maybe more importantly how many words may have been left out.

This is a very intriguing story. It's most definitely a slow burn book, but I think it's worth it to stick with it till the end.

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments 7th book finished - The Boys from Biloxi The Boys from Biloxi by John Grisham . 3 disappointing stars ☹️

Ok, this one is a tough review for me. I love John Grisham and normally cannot put his books down, I fly through them. This book wasn't the case. It's a painfully slow burn. I've seen many people say it reads like nonfiction and I couldn't agree more. While the overall storyline is interesting, this one just didn't have the excitement and fast pace I'm accustomed to with Grisham's writing. The story didn't suck me in. In fact in parts I was bored. Having said that, I still love Grisham's books and will read anything he writes. And while I wasn't thrilled with this book, the reviews are really split of people loving it or disliking it. So read it and be your own judge.
