Jenny Lawson talks about her battle with mental illness openly and sincerely. She suffers deep depression as well as multiple other medical issues mostly due to her auto-immune disease. Some of the treatments she has undergone have made great strides in her life, lessening her agoraphobia and making her a bit less of an introvert. The battles with insurance companies over coverage of said treatments is maddening. Fortunately for Jenny she was able to pay out-of-pocket for some exorbitantly expensive medicines but she knows things have to change in the medical insurance industry for those who cannot afford care.
I truly enjoyed the section of the book in which Jenny highlighted embarrassing moments sent to her from her readers. I laughed out loud quite a few times. Other chapters of her book I did not enjoy at all as I am not a fan of explicit sexual humor. I listened to the audio read by the author.
