Strands Challenge

How to play:
Just like the word search challenge, each team will be given the same Strands to start off with and then receive different ones after finishing. The only difference is how you can "find" these words. Please see below on how you, and the team, can read for these words.
Option 1: You can find the word in text. Please provide the location (page or %) and quote.
Option 2: You can use the letters in the title, series title, and/or author's name (first, middle, and/or last). If your book has multiple authors, you can use any letter combination.
Option 3: Using any object(s) on the cover.
Option 4: Using the color of the cover (Must be 50%)
The options to find these will depend on the theme and the words. You can also use any combination if your Strands game has two-word answers. For example, Green Apple: You could use a book with a green cover and 'Apple' in text. One book per answer.
Bonus Points:
Every time a team finishes a puzzle, they will get 50 bonus points!

This challenge will only take place during the month of January. That means books will be accepted from January 1st to January 31st. Winners will be announced on February 1st.
If you start a book before January, you will only be able to count the pages that you read in January for this challenge. If the page amount is over 100 pages, you can still count it towards a category.
When signing up, please mention the number of books you plan on reading for the month of January. This number will be easier for me to make teams match up a bit more evenly.

**You will not be penalized if you go over or under your number.**

Page Points
1 - 50 pages → 0.25 pts (will only count for page points)
51 - 99 pages → 0.5 pts (will only count for page points)
100 - 149 pages → 1 pt
150 - 249 pages → 2 pts
250 - 349 pages → 3 pts
350 - 449 pages → 4 pts
450 - 549 pages → 5 pts
550 - 649 pages → 6 pts
650 - 749 pages → 7 pts
750 - 849 pages → 8 pts
850 - 949 pages → 9 pts
950+ pages → 10 pts
*Buddy read points will double the page count.
*Reading and participating in the group book of the month will triple the page count

Strands Challenge:
Strands is an online word game created by The New York Times and was released back in March 2024. Strands takes the form of a word search, with new puzzles released once every day. Unlike typical word searches, words in Strands can bend in any direction.
Each puzzle is themed; players are given a clue to the theme of the puzzle and the total number of words to be found. Words related to the theme are highlighted in blue once found. If the player finds three words unrelated to the puzzle, they have the option to receive a hint.
Each puzzle also contains a “spangram,” a word or two-word phrase that describes the theme itself, that spans two opposite edges of the grid, though they may not begin or end on those edges. Similarly, words other than the spangram may touch two opposing edges. Words do not overlap, and every letter is used in exactly one word.
