I'm not entirely sure sparking imaginations is that difficult a task.

I run an after-school club at a junior school I work at (ages 7-11), and the children involved put together a story (with some refereeing by me). I then stitch that story together into something that works. The first club ended up writing The Three Who Saved Christmas, and quite honestly, they were the ones inspiring my imagination. I was just keeping things on track.

Tons of ideas, some good, some great, and some less so. Not so much in the way of being able to tell these apart, but that'll come with experience.
