Ah, Harry! Not a cold case this time, but a complex current one for Bosch. In The Overlook, by veteran best-selling author Michael Connelly, what looks like a 'standard' murder, turns out to have deadly, and potentially very widespread, ramifications.

Here's my review of Into the Storm by Cecelia Ahern, an intriguing Irish story following GP Enya in the aftermath of a traffic accident during which she rendered assistance. While this is listed with MPGs of Mystery and Mystery-Thriller, I'd classify it more as drama or intrigue.

Aussie writer Adrian Hyland's outback and remote rural mysteries feature female protagonists who are unruly in the best sense of the word - they have to be. Jesse Redpath is great in The Wiregrass, and my only complaint is that Hyland doesn't write faster.

All the Water in the World by Eiren Caffall is a hard book to rate. The dystopian world created by extreme climate change was shockingly well done and provided a lot of food for thought (and I like books that make me think).
