A story about a professional classical piano player who discovers he has ALS. He must cope with the progression of this disease, his loss of being able to play the piano and eventually care for himself, as well as confronting his past mistakes.
This book brings awareness to the difficulties of having ALS, the denial all the way to the choices of prolonging a limited quality of life and the difficulties of being a caregiver for someone with ALS. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, so don't wait to be the person you want to be and don't wait to correct the mistakes you've made. At the very least, don't wait to apologize and forgive.
While these lessons are timely, important, and well delivered, the story itself feels a little lacking. There was one point where I thought, I didn't see this coming...what happens next. But it turned out to be a daydream. The book was a slow, emotional, heart wrenching inner monologue.
