Booknblues | 12045 comments Wow! What a year it has been racing at the Steeplechase and what fun we had. There were very few days in which a member had not finished a book, so there were an incredible number of books read and among them a good number of 5 star reads.

Two members had quite a race between them and finished well before the rest. Olivermagnus (Lynda) managed to finish the race reading all the tags and all the grab bag tags one day before Joy D.

So Olivermagnus will receive a $30 gift card and
Joy D $25 gift card.

The queen of matching tags, Nancy J was in 3rd place and will receive a $20 gift card.

Participating members will receive 20 points for each level which they completed in the race. I have the following list of completed levels, please let me know if anyone has been forgotten or placed incorrectly:

Level 1
Book Concierge
Linda N
Joanne
Lyn
Shelly
Library Cin
Rachel N

Level 2
Sue
Diana

Level 3

Amy
Rachel

Level 4
Jen K
Theresa

Level 6

Level 7

Level 10

Theresa | 15499 comments Amazing accomplishments all! I had a lot of fun with this one. And Bessie made so many new friends, she's nevering staying on the farm!

Rachel N. | 2234 comments I don't know if Linda N. in level one should be me as I don't know of a Linda N. :-). I did finish level one and am not on the list.

Jen K | 3143 comments Congrats all! I really enjoyed this game too. It was fun to take on the challenge of the various prompts. I found great books for all the tags.

I went back and checked the master list and have now corrected it. There is both a Linda N and a Rachel N

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11060 comments Thanks Fran! Congratulations to everyone!

I completed level 11, not 10.
(I reached the summit , read all the original tags and hurdles, and cycled through my boards 9 more times to pick up extra grabbag tags.)

I’m wondering how our game points will translate (to part, points?)

I decided to avoid tag matches in 2025, but my first Compass direction brought me to Canada. Go figure.

Jen Mays | 356 comments Congratulations everyone! Sheldon and I decided to retire along the time travel route when work got busy and we focused on some other reading goals, but we enjoyed watching the rest of you along your loops!

Amy | 12907 comments I thought this challenge was super fun and creative!! I think I will miss our train friends and mounts. But I have the feeling they will be back for 2026.

Ellen | 3507 comments This was such a fun challenge and I enjoyed it immensely, as did Purrito. I'm sure you are thrilled to be done with the daily spins for so many people at so many different levels Fran. What a trooper!
Congrats to all and once again -- wow Lynda!! Well done Joy and Nancy!

Olivermagnus (lynda11282) | 4758 comments Fran......thanks for hosting this challenge. I'm addicted to this type of game. I'm looking forward to a much slower challenge this year. Congratulations to all the other participants, especially Joy and Nancy, who completed so many tags and read so many books.

Addicted? Really? ;p

message 16: by NancyJ (new)

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11060 comments Yes addicted LOL. I get it now. The random choice of what to read next, and deadlines, both help to keep the momentum going. It requires planning up front, but it cuts decision time. This week I’ve been dithering between 3-4 different books, never really committing to one.

I’ve told you before Fran how much I enjoyed this game. It stretched me and kept me moving, and I loved the extra bonus activities. Thank you so much for your steady leadership and commitment.

Anita Pomerantz | 9280 comments I have entered everyone's participation points. Maybe go to the sheet and double check them if you are keeping close track of these awards. I don't want to revisit this three weeks from now, lol.
