I've been waiting for this & have my books already organised.
Girls' High after enjoying Portrait of the Artist's Wife so much in last year's challenge. That is my kiwi choice.
Of Love and Shadows Isabel Allende is one of the authors where I have a lot of her books, but am not getting around to reading them. Book pools are a good motivational tool.
Yellowface picked this one up very cheaply on Bookbub last year. Let's see if it lives up to the hype!

Cool - I don't know why I'm not getting to the Allende's! I found Island Beneath the Sea (the only one I've read since being on Gr) disappointing, but that is no reason not to go to her better books.

The Spanish garden by Cliff Taylor
Nine Coaches Waiting by Mary Stewart
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstein
I'm in of course.
These are my three picks:
1. The New Life
2. Breath
3. Guardians of the Valley: John Muir and the Friendship that Saved Yosemite

Hine Toa
The Postcard
Someone Knows My Name also known as The Book of Negroes. It's available for Kindle but I couldn't find it in my local BorrowBox, so if it's too tricky let me know and I'll think of an alternative.

As much as I still want to read The Postcard, it featured in our last BookPool. Perhaps pick another one :)

Ah, drat. OK, can I add Cherrywood instead please.

Slow Horses by Mick Herron
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch
Looking forward to February!!

I saw a great Sense and Sensibility show at Circa Theatre in Wellington last yr, it's one of my favorite Austen books.

I tried to pick some books that were on my shelf that hopefully won't be too hard to find physically or as an ebook.

Yay glad you're joining in Zellian :) Also stoked you picked Anne of Green Gables, a book I'm keen to read. Have you seen the TV show Anne with an E?

I’m keen to join again!
My 3 choices are
1. The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden
2. Lady Macbeth by Ava Reid
3. The Women by Kristin Hannah

I haven't but should at some point! There's a lot of book media I haven't actually caught up on.

I loved Anne with an E! I don't think I finished it so you have reminded me to add it back on my To Watch List!
I read Anne of Green Gables for book group maybe ten years ago but would like to read it again! :)
Halfway through January. Still time to sign up for anyone else interested :) Sign ups close at the end of Jan.

Someone just recommended "The women" to me yesterday, so I'm excited to see that in the pool. (also seeing the Jock Sarong and wondering how much emotional damage that will do me. I have still not recovered from "On the Java Ridge" and that was YEARS ago!)
Will post my books for the pool once I have had a bit of a look.

1. The Dictionary of Lost Words
2. Take Me to Your Leader by Leonie Agnew (I was looking for a NZ book to add and figured you can't get more local than just down the road, plus I know the author's sister)
3. The Air Raid Book Club, which someone gave me last year, and I tried to read it but failed. Hopefully this will give me the incentive to try again.

'On the Java Ridge' is definitely a book that stays with you.

Three books:
1 The Beach Street Knitting Society And Yarn Club'

2 'The Skull Mantra'

3 'Rivers of London'

Great to have you joining Francesca :) Yellowface is already in the pool so if you want to pick one other book :)

1) Throne of Glass - Sarah Maas
2) Vā: Stories by Women of the Moana
3) Abolition. Feminism. Now. - Angela Y. Davis
i hope my choices are okay!

My books are:
Martina Cole - Betrayal
The Daughter of the Fens - Elena Collins
Another Life - Kirstin Hannah
Betrayal
The Daughter of the Fens
Another Life
I've read a few of these books already in the bookpool list, and I have to say, Kirstin Hannah The Women is one of my favs! I also really liked Dark Matter, that was quite different and good!
Only a few days left for people to join in and have their 3 picks added to the pool. I'm already trying to decide which book to read first! So many good choices :)

I may be a couple of days late starting as I have a couple of books on the go atm.
I'd like to start with Rivers of London if the library copy is in. It's been on one of my to-read lists for years.

Last day for sign ups :) I'll probably read New Life or Breath first just cos I have them close to hand on my shelves. But keen to read Lonely Castle in the Mirror soon after.
What are others thinking they'll pick up first in Feb?

It's back by popular demand :)
The challenge begins on February 1st. To claim points, please don't start your books from the pool until then!
You can sign up and choose 3 books to add to the book pool until January 31st. You can join the Challenge after this date, but you will not be able to add books to the pool.
For anyone who hasn't joined in before, or if you just need a refresher, here are the rules:
1. When you sign up pick 3 books you want to be included in the "book pool."
2. Books must have been released/published before the challenge has started and are available in both print and e-book form (try and pick books that people should be able to get their hands on fairly easily).
3. If its a book in a series - please only choose the first book in the series.
4. Please no duplicates and no self-promotion. I reserve the right to decline a book choice (particularly if it's featured in previous book pools).
5. Once the challenge starts on February 1st, you read books from the pool.
At the end of the month whoever has read the most books from the pool is the champion!
Main thing is to read, have fun and maybe discover your new favourite book or author :)
