Nominations open for February 2025 Group Reads

that would be a good one so I nominate: Open Season by C.J. Box. It's a more idealistic version of the Longmire series but with a game warden as the hero

First of four.
I have owned this for a few years and have never read it. 😬

There are actually eight by now! 🙂 I've read the first three and I love them.

I didn't care as much for the character in the series (probably because he didn't look much like I'd envisioned the character) and Romanowski was not African American in the books but had long blond hair
from an interview with the author:
Nate Romanowski is based on a friend of mine although I’ve exaggerated (Thank God) his personality. The buddy I grew up with was a big blonde middle linebacker who later went on to join the military and special forces. He took me falconry hunting and through him I was introduced to the very strange and fascinating world of falconers and the mindset that goes with it. And, of course, Nate carries one of the largest handguns in the world and he’s good with it.

The house in the woods by mark Dawson.
It’s a good book I read it this time last year and I’ve got the next one to read this year

Gina Royal’s life is upended when her husband is revealed as a serial killer, forcing her to become Gwen Proctor, a fierce protector of her children. Settled at Stillhouse Lake, Gwen tries to build a new life despite constant threats. But when a body is found in the lake and ominous letters arrive, she must fight to protect her family from a danger that refuses to let her go.

I agree, why don't those of us who want to discuss that book continue it in this monthly read from February 2024 and chose a book we haven't already read for February 2025?

that's not really a first in series novel. Do you want to make another choice?

Nominate any book that begins a mystery/crime/thriller series.
The usual:
You may absolutely NOT nominate your own book, and if your book is the one chosen in the poll, you will be the leader for the discussion.
Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!!
