Ann (annrumsey) | 16927 comments 2025 Determination Lists introduction and tips:
Each year we pick a few books we are determined to read: they could be big fat books, books we have always meant to read, books to stretch into a different genre, books that take an extra push to finish, or simply books you want to read. We usually start with a list of ten books, layer on some fun challenge categories, and add a book to the count each year ..... so this year if you do both that would mean twenty-five books.
Twenty-five books is a lot so feel free to do just the top ten or maybe the fifteen fun challenges or as many as you can of either or both!

<><><> 2025 OPTIONS<><><><>
To make it easy for everyone to participate, this year we are suggesting three options - pick the one that fits!
Option #1 - pick any TEN determination books
Option #2 - choose the FIFTEEN fun topic challenge prompts
Option #3 - combines #1 and #2 for a total of TWENTY-FIVE books

During the year post your progress and tell us why they were on your list and we will cheer you along.

Suggested Steps:
After DJ posts the options to log your progress you may start your own topic under this new 2025 Determination Lists folder.

1) Choose an option and copy the challenge log for it
2) Paste the challenge log you select into a new topic of your own and place in this folder **Some list books up front, some list as we go along, either method works!
3) Read and have fun posting your progress, repeat.
4) You may edit your original post at the top of your thread to post the finished books
5) Share your thoughts as the year goes along here and on the 2025 JF/NR thread.

Happy Reading and Happy New Year!

Donnajo | 4353 comments Option #2 - 2025 Determination Fifteen Challenge

1. A book set in a different country than you live in.

2. Read a book by an author that you never read before or one by a new debut author.

3. A book that someone recommended to you.

4. A book that is a different genre than your normal type of read (could be out of your comfort zone).

5 & 6. Two books from a series you haven't completed yet (everyone has that one or two books to still read to catch up in a series)

7. A book that comes out in 2025.

8. A book you meant to read in 2024 but never got around to it.

9. A book that came out before you were born (this one might be harder to do but we know you can handle it)

10. A book that is done by more than one author (it can be a book of short stories by different authors, or one book that is one story with more than 1 author like Patterson or Evanovich I'm sure there is others.

11. A book that won an award.

12. One of the oldest to be read books on your unread mountain.

13. A book set in multiple countries.

14. Book you started in the past but put aside and never finished for some reason. (I know we all have them. I have a small tote bag filled with them a different reason why it wasn't finish.

15. A BFB/Big Fat Book one that is 500+ pages or one longer than your usual average page count or audio length.

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9483 comments I always go for the big list even though I never finish it. It's way fun. I've been a little late getting going but off to post my DL list now.
