For a minute there I thought it was Julio Cortázar's Hopscotch.

I hope you enjoy A Monster Calls. Just remember to have tissues handy. I'm still not quite over it, and it's been years since I read it. I kid you not, just thinking about it now got me teary eyed. 😅 Also 100% recommend the movie. Liam Neeson as the voice of the Yew tree is pure perfection.
