"Why did we have to come here?" The dress she wore seemed to weigh heavily on her, dragging her down with every step she took. While the rest of the group seemed to be dressed for comfort in cozy sweaters or hoodies, Itsoki appeared to be left in the dark with clothing that was deemed inappropriate for the occasion. After a few minutes had passed, Yamaki uttered under her breath,
"I wish I was still sitting in my math class." Her voice quivered slightly, and a visible shiver ran down her spine, betraying the fear she was feeling. Several minutes had elapsed, and Haru's anxiety grew as he searched for Itsoki. He raised his voice, projecting a sense of urgency as he called out,
"Itsoki, where are you?"
His concern for his companion was palpable in his tone. Itsoki's petite frame was abruptly enveloped by a massive, sinewy hand, causing her body to involuntarily tense up in fear. She felt utterly powerless and unable to move as she struggled to utter a plea for Haru's aid, her voice stifled by the overwhelming sense of helplessness. Yamaki expressed uncertainty about how math could assist in resolving their situation, stating,
"Maybe I can utilize mathematical principles to aid us, but I am unsure of its applicability in this particular circumstance."
As soon as Yamaki spoke, a fierce thunderstorm manifested out of nowhere, unleashing a relentless onslaught of booming thunderbolts that echoed throughout the massive and imposing stone walls. The heavy raindrops pounded against the ground, creating a cacophony that filled the air, while lightning bolts illuminated the dark sky with its blinding brilliance. It was as if nature itself had awoken and was expressing its fury in full force. After a few minutes, Itsoki was soaked, her dress sticking to her petite form. In a state of emotional distress, Haru desperately called out for help from his companions. However, before anyone could react, his equilibrium failed him and he tragically fell from a great height, resulting in a deafening sound as his body made contact with the ground. Yamaki's voice barely audible, she muttered to herself, trying to fight off the fear that had gripped her. As the storm raged on outside, she huddled in the corner, her body curled up tightly as she struggled to control her breathing and keep her anxiety from overwhelming her. Itsoki tried screaming, the yell barreling off the stone walls while Haru lay unconscious on the ground, his leg broken. Itsoki hurriedly made his way toward Haru and exclaimed in a concerned tone,
"Haru, are you feeling okay?"
Yamaki's sorrow was obvious from her swollen, red eyes caused by tears. Despite her silent weeping, her pain was palpable in the atmosphere. Itsoki crouched next to Haru, holding his head while hot tears flowed down her face, her cheeks wet with tears while Haru lay on the cold, hard ground, moaning in pain, the ground below him red from blood, his leg broken and twisted.
