The Writer's Roundtable discussion

This is a start of what could be a book. I've changed it so many times I've think I got it to how I wanted it to start. I want the readers to feel like their in the story.

How can I add my book?

Chapter 1

The squeakyness of the shoes against the plain white tile floor as students scatter to get to class, with the loud click of the lockers slamming shut. Just as I open mine that's when I hear someone shout my name in that familiar voice I've known since grammar school.

"Emily!" shouted Katie as she's panting her breath once she reached me.

"What?" I asked. Hoping I don't sound pissed off or annoyed.

"There's a rumor about this new kid in school." she's smiling from ear to ear. "

"Have you fallen for him already?" I smile trying to show how that I'm joking and nudge my arm with hers.

"No, but I've heard he's been in trouble before with the cops and it's why he had to transfer."

"Where on earth did you hear that?" Slamming my locker shut as I swing my backpack over my shoulder to head to class.

"Oh, from other students lurking the halls as I passed them."

"Katie you can't always believe what you hear."

"Fine,but when you see him and talk to him put me on speaker. " She laughs and walks away quickly just as she came.

I would like for people to tell me what they think of my story and to edit anything they find wrong or would make the story better
