Play Book Tag discussion

A huge spaceship is to carry people to a new planet 300 years in the future and, accordingly, the people are frozen to be thawed out upon landing. Seventeen-year-old Amy agreed to accompany her parents on the 3 centuries long voyage onboard the Godspeed. Amy is frightened when she realizes that she is being thawed and that it is 50 years too soon. She is now alone without her family in a vast ship full of strangers. Amy meets Elder, a young man about her age who is being groomed to be the captain. His mentor, Eldest, has taught Elder everything about his duties but there are secrets that Elder and Amy will find out for themselves. Someone keeps thawing out the "frozens" allowing them to perish in their glass coffins. Amy now believes that someone was trying to kill her but Elder happened to be nearby and was able to save her. Who would want to do that? And just what is happening on the mysterious 4th floor? Amy and Elder are determined to solve the mystery and keep the rest of the frozens from being murdered.

I am not a fan of science fiction so this was a stretch for me. On the whole it was interesting but the story went to a few quite unsavory places that I just didn't see coming. It was ok.

I read this when at least one of my kids was the right age for this, but liked it a great deal better than you did. Of course, I do like a fair bit of science fiction.
