Do you agree with our voting?

What do you think the 2025 committee will decide?

What books did your local voting choose, if you held a Mock Newbery?

Amy Sutton (a_nicole) | 14 comments I felt very weird about parts of Tree. Table. Book. It didn't sit well with me.

I really loved The Tenth Mistake of Hank Hooperman, though. I'm so curious to see what the committee chooses! I feel like this year that are so many strong candidates. The committee also seems to find random titles to highlight that aren't necessarily getting buzz. We'll see!

Ellen Peterson | 47 comments I was so happy to see the mock Newbery pick was the Tenth Mistake of Hank Hooperman. That has been my top choice ever since I read it. I just really conected with the characters. I think their very well written. I also really enjoyed The First State of Being. I liked the message to live in the moment and not worry so much about the future. As for Tree Table Book I have not read it yet. I have really enjoyed Lois Lowry books in the past but I thought her previous book The Windeby Puzzle was boring. I also saw a review on a websight that I trust that made me think there might be some content I wouldn't like. Who knows though I haven't read it so I can't fully judge yet. I was surprised though to see it do so well in our Mock Newbery group as I don't feel it's been discussed much till now.

Chris Hays (librarianhays) | 18 comments I like our committee selections. The real committee is unlikely to award three former winners/honorees only. It might be that none of these make the list based on results in the past. These will likely be future class book club picks, which is what I consider the true win.
