Brant, the agent who oversees the Secret Service protection details for Nick and Scotty, is strongly opposed to having Aubrey and Alden stay with Nick and Sam given what happened to their parents. Additionally, the CPS representative came to the house demanding that the children be placed in her custody. Your thoughts about both group’s concerns? Were they considering the best solutions for those children or following protocols that are there for good reasons?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments They were right. No question Sam and Nick should not have taken those kids. But the twins formed a bond with Sam and she with them and there was nothing that was going to separate them after that.

At that time those kids needed the assurance that someone was there for them and Sam was there for them.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments There are rules there for a reason. Brant's job is to keep Nick and Scotty safe. What if whoever killed the children's parents learns where they are staying and makes plans to try to get them. This is additional work for the Secret Service who needs time to form a plan for protecting two more charges.

The caseworker for CPS was doing her job. It's normal for kids who don't have relatives nearby be sent to short-term foster homes until a permanent solution is found. The only way this got changed was the fact that Sam and Nick were already approved because of Scotty. If Sam had been a little nicer to the caseworker, problems would have been iron out earlier. Instead, Sam pulled her "second lady" card which just antagonized the situation.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Sam was always going to get her way. She's Sam. Sam always gets her way. In this case, it was the best place for them to be. I don't think the little boy would have ever shared what happened, if he had not felt safe and protected and Sam, Nick, Scotty and Shelby made him feel that.
