Josie and Misty have created a relationship around baby Harris where she’s a frequent babysitter. Does this surprise you? What’s Josie’s motivation? Consistent with Misty’s nature or something else?

It is certainly interesting! Maybe Josie is using Harris as a substitute for not having a baby of her own. I guess Misty is using her.

I am a little concerned that Josie is investing so much of herself in baby Harris. I also agree that Josie may be using the baby as a substitute for the child she and Ray never had. I know Josie deeply loved Ray and wishes things could have worked out differently.

I don't know if Misty is using Josie, but for now the situation works for them both.

I don't like it. I'm not a Misty fan at all, and I don't trust her for one minute. However, I think it keeps a part of Ray in her life and gives her what she never had with Ray.

I don't trust Misty either. She could decide at any time to ban Josie from the baby or just pick up and leave.

I find it weird that Josie is spending so much time with the baby. She does not seem like the motherly type at all

Josie has hidden depths and as she gets to know her real family, I hope she can put Belinda/Lila behind her, forget and move on.

Even though she doesn't like how things went with Ray - she still sort of wants to be part of his child's life - still have a part of Ray. Even if that puts Misty in her life as well. I think with everything that happened to Misty in the last book helped to sort of solidify a truce of sorts between her and Josie. It is kind of shocking to 'watch' Josie be motherly. Interested to see where this part of the story goes

Josie never stopped loving Ray as he was so connected to her from childhood. She divorced him because he cheated with Misty. I fear her time with that baby keeps her connected to him. And, she saved that child from drowning.

Misty’s an airhead. She needs Josie and financial support. Stay tuned.

I agree with Jonetta’s statement. And after learning more about their childhood relationship, which was truly beautiful and heartfelt. That backpack he prepared for Josie brought on the waterworks lol. But I say that to say, I can see why Josie is invested in baby Harris.

I am not able to speak on Misty’s nature, bc I am not sure of it, but for Josie, I believe it’s all about baby Harris and Ray being his father… and as we saw in this book, by association that extends (to a degree) to Misty as the baby’s mother.

That is interesting, Jonetta. Misty spent all her savings in the IVF treatments. What is she living on now?

Jae', I really think that Misty will eventually make Josie pay to be in Harris's life.

Misty is going to get money from Josie. She already asked for Ray's life insurance and assets.
