Me and my sister have a tradition before either of us competes in an academic team competition. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's also called quiz bowl in some places. It's basically a trivia competition. There are five different categories: Language Arts, Arts & Humanities, Math, Science, and Social Studies. We both do LA and A&H. We also compete in Quick Recall, which is all the subjects combined into one live round. It's sort of like Jeopardy and very exhilarating for nerds like us.
Side note because I have undiagnosed ADHD and can't make it through a story without at least four mini stories embedded in it: One time they asked about a foil character, and it said "Characters that play this role in a story include Draco Malfoy and Peeta Mellark," except the person reading pronounced it Peeta MELL-ark and I raged for a solid 20 minutes. They also asked a question about Katniss one time, but I only heard the first 5 words, so IDK what all they asked about because I buzzed in and knew it immediately.
Anyway, back on topic: Before one of us goes off to the testing room, we give each other a pep talk full of references to our favorite fandom. This time, my pep talk was: "Good luck, shoot straight, and *puts on Effie voice* may the odds be EVER in your favor." It genuinely seemed to give her confidence. She whispered back "Always," and went to that testing room with a smile on her face.
Anyways, sorry for the long post, but I thought if anyone would appreciate that and rage with me for the mispronunciation of the name of our king, it'd be you guys!

*Spoiler Warning*
Finnick, Prim, and Cinna for me.
Finnick was so unnecessary. Like, I know it's war and you can't expect everyone to live, but really Suzanne? Him? And poor Annie! And the baby!
And Prim though! Katniss started her entire journey to keep Prim safe, and then THE PRIM REAPER, supposedly her best friend, killed her! I know some people say he didn't know, but he'll forever be guilty in my book.
Cinna as well. I read the books before the movies, and when I read the book, it just kind of said they beat him, and it didn't hit me that he was gone, and then it listed him as someone to avenge or something (I don't exactly remember), and I was like WAIT HE'S GONE!? and I started sobbing uncontrollably in the middle of silent reading at school. My friend just looked at me, looked at the book and gave me a huge hug. I will forever be grateful to her for not judging and completely understanding, unlike the rest of my class.

Okay, not to give anyone false hope, but I just went back to the Cinna scene, and it says "We BELIEVE he died during interrogation." BELIEVE! What if he's still out there, biding his time? I have been given hope! Let me know what y'all think!
*sigh* Yeah, I figured. That was my last hope though... RIP Cinna, you will be missed. Katniss' wedding dress won't be the same since you didn't make it. :(
hc that she used on of the other gowns he’d made her
Absolutely! Like, IDK, I feel like she wouldn't want to be The Girl on Fire or the Mockingjay just for one day; she'd just want to be a regular girl. It does say that he made other gowns, so maybe she found one of his sketches or something and wore that. I have so many hcs, we should have a topic just for that!
