Cosmere reading order?

I really want to start the Cosmere universe from Brandon Sanderson. But it's such a big commitment and so many books, I need some recommendation for reading orders. I think I want to start with the Mistborn era 1 trilogy but is this a good place to start?

Hi Tamara! I just finished Mistborn: The Final Empire actually and this is the only Cosmere book I have read so far but felt like it was a really good starting point! It was SO GOOD! I watched Sanderson's video on his website about his suggested reading order and this was one of the places he said was best to start at. The other option he said most recently was actually starting with Tress of the Emerald Sea which I have also heard is very good! You should look up that video because he listed out exactly what order he recommmended through all 20 or so books in the Cosmere!

I think it dosnt matter if you are starting with Mistborn or Stormlight. There are small connections between these stories, but they are not important for understanding. Elantris and Warbreaker are standalone stories, so I think they are a good option to get a feeling for Sandersons storytelling.

Starting with Mistborn Era 1 is a good place to start I think. The books aren't quite as long as Stormlight and they're a lot more engaging (I think anyway) than his first Cosmere book Elantris, which I found a little harder to get into. There's a few recommended starting points on Sanderson's website as well though if you want the author's opinion. He does also suggest 'The Final Empire' as a good starting point as well.
