Finished this last week. I posted on cover colors but forgot about this new thread.

I enjoyed this book. Five stars. Fantastical story about women and gender fluid individuals who are living under Empire rule (Based on Chinese folklore) and this group of “misfits” band together to take on their oppressors. Their base of operations in high on a mountain surrounded by water, hence the title. Great writing with lots of magical realism/ fantasy elements.

enjoyed this enough to get the next in the series (also on audible) to listen to travelling in March.

There were a lot of family dynamics when the mother adopted 2 teenage girls to add to the other 2 teenage daughters in the family.
