Skip’s funeral was a combination of police and White House protocols and fanfare with POTUS and over 10,000 policeman in attendance to pay respects. How critical is this to family and close friends or is it too much? Anything here that felt inauthentic or was it appropriate to the man?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I think it is appropriate because the lives of all of these people are entwined. It is a security nightmare, but Presidents deal with this in real life.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Skip was deserving of the full treatment. He was shot in the line of duty and was a respected member of the department, The fanfare was well deserved. I think the family was honored that he was so well respected.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Considering his popularity and the fact he was shot in the line of duty, the funeral fanfare was appropriate.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments It made sense to me. He was shot in the line of duty and eventually died from those injuries. He was very popular with the police department and the people of Washington DC. He was also the father of the Second Lady who is very popular herself.

Yes this added to it and it made sense
