Since Skip’s death is as a result of the injuries he sustained from the shooting, his case is now elevated to murder and a new case is opened. Sam and Freddie follow up on a tip from a witness they’ve never heard about and learn that Frank Davis had not only saved Skip’s life but had reported what he saw to Paul Conklin. Given his behavior with the sniper murders, what were your thoughts in this moment? Was he involved in some way, protecting someone or complicit?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I immediately thought he was involved. It made me sad.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I had my suspecions about Conklin, but not I knew he was a dirty cop

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Force set Conklin up in the previous book to be an irresponsible officer, so I wasn't at all surprised that he turned out to be involved.

I think it would have been a better revelation if Force hadn't mentioned anything about Conklin in the previous book. It certainly would have been a surprise. But since she did, everyone was immediately suspicious of him.
