LibraryCin | 11664 comments A bit disappointing for me, but also not completely surprising since the monthly tag is no longer tied so closely to our annual challenges.

We read 73 unique titles for "Canada" in January.
https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

That being said, there was a lot of overlap in the titles read. "The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John was read by quite a few people (not sure if it was a buddy read or if it just happened that way!).

There were 90 threads, and with one for the announcement thread, that would indicate that 89 books (non-unique) were read for the tag.

This is, however, an improvement on the October 2017 "Canadian" tag when we read 65 unique titles.

LibraryCin | 11664 comments But once nice thing is it didn't take nearly as long to do the shelving! :-)

You too get to enjoy far less 'tracking'! 😅

I am one of the unique Canada reads but I did notice a lot of duplication, some not surprising such as latest by a popular author with a series.

That's a plus for you :)

Jgrace | 3935 comments I had 5 books on my Canada radar for last month and only managed to get through one of them.

I'm still working on Greenwood, which is well written, but so depressing. I can only take it in small doses. I also tried The Orenda last month, but it was too violent and sad for me to handle with both fire and inauguration stress.

Sorry, Cin, I had good intentions!

LibraryCin | 11664 comments There is so much Canadian stuff that is literary and I feel like so much more of it (than just the really popular stuff) would be enjoyable to many here!

In any case, I guess it's hard to hear about some of the less popular Canadian stuff, even if many here would enjoy it

Joy D | 10072 comments I liked or loved all five of my "Canada" books! I probably would have read more except I was working on a number of group challenges simultaneously.

Robin P | 5732 comments I ended up reading 5 that I counted, though one was less than half set in Canada and the other maybe an eighth set there.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11061 comments 89 is a respectable number. Let’s not even try to compare this year to last, with its crazy volumes.

I was happy with this tag. I read 4 Canada books in January, plus another in February. I have several more planned . My plan this year is to read 3 tag books each month to allow room for other goals.

I think it’s a neat idea to compare the number of members who read for each tag.

Booknblues | 12049 comments I read 3 Canada books and have more on the list, some of which I will read this year.

Thank you, Jason! I just don't take the time to break it down that closely!

You are right about that comparison!

Michelle H | 173 comments I posted late...it took a long time to get my book from the library. I am still waiting on my Science (February) book. It was supposed to be available last week.

I have it on my TBR, but didn't get to it last month.

I don't mind doing it. I have found a pretty fast way.

You can copy and paste all the posts in excel. Then you can delete any duplicates (username) and it shows only unique members who posted.
