Carole Mills | 84 comments how & when do you mainly find the time to read…

Are you mainly…

1) an adhoc reader who reads when they can?
2) an avid bedtime reader
3) a mix of both
4) a fast scanning reader
5) a mix of all of the above
Or
6) something else?

Lucy | 51 comments Hi Carole
good question
I read whenever I can.
usually instead of watching TV, on a train, always before I go to sleep and literally jump from one book to another when I've finished, never without a book on the go.

How about you?

As I’m retired I read throughout the day on & off. Usually, in between chores. Always in the evening as opposed to watching Tv. Not much of a bed time reader as I tend to nod off. Always read on a train and on holiday!

Like you I always have a book or 2 on the go.

I always read at bedtime. I try to read at lunchtime at work and if I have a really good book on the go I might read a bit in the evenings instead of TV.

Gabriele (tapati1) | 13 comments Always read before bed! And listen to an audiobook while driving. Also sometimes get to read at work or at the gym on a treadmill 😂

I always read before bed and on the train. I always have a book in my bag, so I can whip it out if I'm waiting before an appointment, etc.

I usually only read one book at a time as I like to give each my undivided attention. However, I need to have my next one at the ready as I feel a little lost if I have nothing to read!

Paul Besley (165862590-paul-besley) | 112 comments I have set times for reading, one hour in a morning after breakfast, one hour in the afternoon after dinner, then I read in the evening usually from around 8pm until around 1 am. I generally read one book at a time, occasionally a second if it is a non narrative tome. I'm currently following a 12 month classical reading course, it's slow reading and I've given up trying to keep in time, I'm about 8 months behind, but it is very enjoyable and I am learning so much. I don't watch TV and I think that helps. The biggest thief of my time these days is social media, scrolling. I've just deleted all my apps (again) and use my desktop as now, and my only SM is a blog though I have recently stopped using that and changed to Substack.

Bill | 2772 comments I read for a couple of hours in the morning while I'm waking up, unless I go for a run. I try to read during the day but lately I seem to be watching more TV. I also read for a bit before I go to bed, it helps me sleep.

Carole Mills | 84 comments I think I’ve totally messed up on this thread. Again, it seems format has changed on replying to messages….probably me! Anyhow I’m grateful for the replies. I don’t watch very much TV but I do ‘waste’ a lot of time on social media!

Don't worry, Carole. None of us are experts, especially when GR tweaks and alters things!
