Suffer the Children (probably my fav)
The Lesser Dead
The Terror (long, like all of his novels, and maybe too much of a slow burn for you, but I loved it. The book was made into Season 1 of The Terror on Netflix, and is excellent if you'd rather watch it).
The Final Girl Support Group, and The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, both by Grady Hendrix. (Neither are all that scary as in keeping you up at night, but really fun and crazy rides).

I used to be very active here about ten years ago, but my focus shifted to other things (including raising of my daughter, work, podcasting and coaching), but I've recently rediscovered my love of reading and have plowed through a handful of books that were sitting on my shelf for more than eight years in the last three weeks.
So, while it's great to be back (which has included finally being able to log into Goodreads on my desktop computer for the first time in years - yay for password change instructions finally getting through!), I'm now keen to read all those incredible horror novels you've enjoyed since, ohhh, 2017.
So if you have one, two or three horror reads you would recommended since that year, what would they be? I'm open to most anything, as long as it's not a really slow burn with five pages of pay off from 400 pages of reading :D
Thanks to anyone who catches this and who takes the time to reply.
And here's to your next great read!
