AngelMan | 1 comments I just got another copy of a book I already had that didn't have a dustjacket. The older copy, as I said, didn't have a dustjacket. I ordered another, slightly less quality copy and when I got it, I noticed that it was much smaller...a lot thicker and far less wide than my older copy.

They both say they're first editions, but the older copy has a line of text/numbers that the newer copy doesn't have.

04 05 06 07 08 (a small diamond shape) /RRD 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

I can't find anything about what this line means. Any ideas ?

Sarah | 3167 comments One is *probably* a book club book. And yes I believe the count down numbers like Michelle said are printing numbers. Lowest visible number denotes the print number. (So 1 means 1st printing.)

We might be able to help better if you shared what the book was? Or if you don’t want to share, you might Google: “how to identify BOOK NAME First edition” - you may hit on a thread that explains how to identify the differences between first editions and book club books. It’s not always super easy to tell.
