ETA: Apologies, but I’m not in a position to be captain, but I can help out periodically, if needed.

Definitely only known faces this time around :-) Looking forward to this round!
I quite like "Prose and Cons".
"Four the Love of Books" is a good one too hehe.
Definitely not the coffee one as I am one of the rare people not to drink coffee :-p
But I'm totally open to any of these - thanks for the suggestions!
I could do the captain thing but I'm on European time as you probably remember so I'm always a few hours behind the action haha. Also, I have absolutely no idea how to put an updated bingo card into the thread >.<

I'm another who doesn't like coffee (😝), but I'm highly caffeinated with Cokes (careful you don't trip over my IV 😆) I like those two, too. We'll see what AliciaJ has to say.
I'd be happy if you'd take the captain spot, if you don't mind.
Back soon with shelf announcement info. Ready to get this round started 😁

Requirement: Choose a book using one of the following options ...
*For Valentine, read a Valentine-themed book, 'Valentine' in the title or series name or author or character name starting with V
* For vampire(s), read a book from either shelf: GR vampire/GR vampires/SOS vampire
Back soon with my #1 + FS picks 🤔

I’ll shoot a PM to AliciaJ to let her know we’ve started in case she missed it.

Weirdly this is not on the group's shelves. Never realised that In Death didn't make it on there despite the many, many mentions of the series hehe. I'm finally on book #12 and am slowly but steadily making my way through the gazillion books in the series.

I'm another who doesn't like coffee (😝), but I'm highly caffeinated with Cokes (careful you don't trip over my IV 😆) I like those two, too. We'll see what AliciaJ has to say.

I'm with you both - no on the coffee! I'm a diet coke girl all the way. I really like Prose and Cons, very clever.
Oh, and if you don't mind being captain Eldarwen, that would be fantastic. :)

Yay, Alicia! Sucks about the flu :-/ It's been a nasty one this year from what I've been told from multiple people, but hopefully you're all on the mend now :-)

yuck! So sorry to hear it! Hope y'all recover quickly and don't suffer too badly. Feel better!!

I'm sure Steph will add you as Captain when she's next on the computer, Eldarwen :)"
Added :) Thx, Eldarwen!

I jumped into my FS book, but now I'm questioning if it fits. I'm gonna double check.
Ok, that book didn't fit for a FS read, so I'm switching my FS book (on the BEST OF SCI-FI list):

Hope y'all have a good weekend!

Added :) Thx, Eldarwen!"
Welcome :-)

Hunted by Fate by Shannon Mayer
Series: The Alpha Territories #2
Shelf #1: V/vampires
Read: 28 Feb
Rating: ★★★☆☆
My Review:
I liked this installment a bit more than the first, but I'm still stuck on how often Sienna's past and her relationship with Jordan is mentioned, but nothing's really said. What do we really know? Not a lot. Add in their (view spoiler) and I'm left scratching my head bald in spots. I did like learning more about Dominic and his motives. I really like Dom, Will, and the Duchess, and Lochan is great. I'm more interested in what happens next after reading this installment than I was after the first.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review:
A lot of times reading a new author can be a crapshoot. Luckily I knew after the first few sentences that I was going to enjoy this book. From the unusual beginning, with Oraya being found and adopted by the vampire king Vincent, to the whole Kenjari competition, I was pretty much glued. The plot was really fast-paced, with enough twists and turns that kept me totally interested and wanting to find out what happens next. I don't want to give away the surprise twist at the end of the competition, but suffice to say, it was a good one. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.

This one seemed interesting and from your review sounds like it may not be a bad read hehe. Maybe I'll add it to my TBR eventually as well :-)

That isn't a requirement Eldarwen.
The requirement is to read a book more than 200 pages, but you don't have to add it to the completion post. The completion post needs the Shelf name, Title, Date read, Rating & a Review.
I've never added a page count to any completion post in 27 Rounds. :D

How odd I've never even noticed o.O
For some reason all my team mates have always added page counts in their completion posts as well - maybe because we all copy-paste the info from selection posts where we mention the page number to show it is over 200 pages hehe.

I've always used that same template too Eldarwen, but I've noticed that some people do it like Steph too. In one of my other groups they require it for every post, so I guess I just got trained that way lol.

It was pretty good. Better than I expected anyway, which is always nice. I'm kind of burnt out on vampires at the moment, so that made it even better since it was different from the usual story. It actually kind of reminded me of Blade, in the sense that the vampire groups were made up of clans and there was like this almost feudal feel to the story.

V - Valentine / vampire(s)

Glad you enjoyed it, too. Sadly, for me, my rating for 1-3 went down a 1/2 star each read. I'm still going to read #4 and hoping it'll recapture what drew me in so quickly in book #1.

I think many include more info in their reviews than required by us because other groups have more requirements and that's the preferred or habitual format. Us ninjas typically catch if something's missing or a book is too short for this challenge. Thanks for your polite request though. Promise I make sure they're all over 200 😊

Be back in an hour or so for our next shelf announcement 😁

Rapture in Death by J.D. Robb
Series: In Death #4
Shelf: Free Space
Read: 4 Mar
Rating: ✮✮✮✮☆
My Review:
They had both come from misery, she thought, and survived it. They had been drawn together through violence and tragedy, and had overcome it.I thoroughly enjoyed this installment, more than any of those previous. I prefer it when the bad guy isn't guessed so early on, but feeling I knew who done it way before the reveal didn't take away from my enjoyment.
Money might drip, she mused, but death had no respect for it. It was a club without a class system.I like it when Eve & Roarke work together on cases; their methods so different, coming at problems from opposite directions, but finding the answers together. Though a matchmaker may not have thought to put these two together, they're perfect for each other. It's a joy watching them grow into this new stage in their relationship, especially seeing Eve begin to express her feelings.
"We were supposed to watch videos, eat popcorn, and neck."
"You stood me up." He tugged on her hair. "I'll have to divorce you."

I’m gonna stick with Mayer’s series and read

Happy reading, y’all!

I've just assumed that the people who add page counts are part of other challenges who require them, so to be consistent they just add them here as well :)

Oh! Now this definitely caught my interest. I love Blade - the first film at least (except for that ridiculous ending). The others I've not seen in many moons so can't remember much of them. But I'll never forget the first time I randomly zapped onto Blade, the scene at the disco in the beginning. I was completely hooked - and fell a tiny bit in love with Frost haha. Stephen Dorff was a teen crush of mine ;-)
That kind of setting with the various clans and an interesting sounding story will definitely push the book onto my TBR hehe.
Shame though that the rating went down for you with each book, Steph. Maybe #4 will be better again?

I have my eye on When the Moon Hatched so maybe maybe I'll make that my weekend read :-) After all, it's been sitting on my shelves since it came out and the second book is due in autumn!
