G V | 7 comments Hi, I've just published my first book. I must admit it may be not the most polished one yet. But, unfortunately, I don't have many folks in my social circle who enjoy sci-fi enough to be my Beta readers. I guess, I just want to test the grounds, whether I got what it takes, a writing sparkle, or not. I was made redundant some time ago, so decided to try my hand at something I actually enjoy doing. But, maybe, I just need a harsh reality check and return to corporate planes. Anyway, if you decide to take a look, thank you for your time and consideration. I wrote this book without AI help, but had to use it for the cover and illustrations for now. It's available on Kindle unlimited.

Book overview

The book explores social divisions engulfing our human society towards the early 22nd century. Short-term ideologies aka “live for today because tomorrow is not promised” take over the world.

When aliens arrive on Earth, they seemingly appeal to this penchant of the human society, offering humans a “deal of a lifetime” – three hundred years of the paradise on Earth in exchange for vacating the planet afterwards. They give humans 3 years to consider all aspects of the deal and vote on the outcome at the end of this “notice period”. The deal drives a further wedge into already divided human society with voters splitting into multiple warring factions. It doesn’t take long for some players to start taking more drastic actions to suppress other voting side, leading to the worldwide “human on human” genocides and extermination.

Caitlin | 189 comments I quite like the cover you came up with, Glen! And the premise seems like it would fit well with sci-fi humor. I’d be happy to be a beta reader for you, I’m just reading another book so it might take me a little while.

Thank you so much for encouraging words and help offered. No pressure at all, when you have time. And at this stage I don't ask for the detailed feedback. Just whether you think it's worth exploring further. If it is, I will invest in proper services etc. Thanks again.
