Where is your favorite place to read (library, rocking chair, couch, etc)?

Where is the most unique place that you have read?

My favorite place to read is in my new rocking chair.

Hmmmm...the most unique/strangest place I have read...

I've been caught reading in a movie theater, while walking down a hall when I was in high school, when I was REALLY little...
My father had a big blue van that had a ladder, which lead to the top of the van. I took a children's book, climbed up the ladder and proceeded to read(probably more like looking at the pictures, but it's reading to a kid)...

stormhawk | 1184 comments I don't get breaks at work (not even lunch), so I'll often read on the porch while I'm smoking, standing up.

message 4: by Jojobean (new)

Jojobean My normal place to read is in my bed.

Emmalee Aple (EmmaleeAple) My hammock

message 6: by Emmalee (new)

Emmalee Aple (EmmaleeAple) Before we had furniture in our living room it used to come inside for the winter... that was the best. Now its banned to the shed for winter, I can not wait to break it free for the summer

ImScared3222 I read anywhere that's quiet and secretly tucked away from the rest of the world, or at least my entire household

I'm so jealous, Emmalee. I've always wanted a hammock. Someday I hope to get one."

I have been trying to convince my boyfriend to let me get a hammock for the house, the hammock I want is € 400 so it will take a bit of saving :)

cazdoll | 26 comments My favorite place to read is in bed or in a lovely bubble bath :)

message 12: by Priti (new)

Priti If I am enjoying the book it really don't matter where I am reading..but yes my bed takes precedence.
I can't think of a unique place, but sometimes I read in the kitchen while cooking, which I think is weird..lol

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) The most unique place I read recently was on a cruise while my husband gambled. They had a lovely bar in the area and they didn't care if I sat there for the two weeks we were aboard ship. Of course, everyone thought I was nuts but I bet not you people.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Probably on one of my porches, a big recliner in the living room. I don't like reading in the bed so much anymore but do something, it can get uncomfortable. I have a little reading lamp for the bed because the other light in the room is on the ceiling fan and the glare is irritating. By the chair I have a lamp for reading that I love.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I used to love reading at the lake when I dated my ex, but my current fiance never wants to go there. I could always go read alone and intend to sometimes, but never worked out. I would love to read at our local park, it's so gorgeous! But it's also crowded and the benches are uncomfortable on my back after awhile.

Razmatus | 241 comments I have a "reading armchair" in my room... and a lamp attached right to the shelf... the light from it is cast over my head and down, so it casts the perfect light for reading <3

Mirvan. Ereon (mirvanereon) | 71 comments My bed is my only "unique place to read" or... maybe I usually prefer to read beside the window of an airconditioned bus whenever I travel

message 18: by Karen M (new)

Karen M I read in my rocker or in bed.

The most unique I haven't done in years but once upon a time we had a summer home and we had a rowboat. I would row up river and sit in the bottom of the boat and read while I drifted down river. Spent some of my best summer days doing this.

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 199 comments My favorite place to read is the train during my commute to work. I take three trains everyday and it usually takes an hour. I get a lot of reading done. :)

message 20: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 2 comments My favorite place to read is in my mother's leather throne chair. A place where I can just curl up and disappear into a different world :) That or at a cafe with a delicious cup of coffee

The most unique place I have read is probably when I was at a heavy metal concert. Why I did, I cant remember.

I read while I'm cooking too!! My husband cannot understand how I can do it, but I can stir with one hand and hold a book in the other.
Apart from that, I think my favourite place is curled up on the sofa with a cup of tea and a biccie!

message 27: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 441 comments I read in a recliner or on the couch if I don't fall asleep first! I sprained my left ankle last friday so plenty of time to catch up reading from my list on here.

I find my Kindle makes this practice easier. I carry it with me everywhere so I'm prepared for those unexpected opportunities.

Doruntina | 4 comments Any place is good as long as you have time and a good book but my favorite is in my room at night, with just a little light from a little lamp :)

message 32: by Razmatus (new)

Razmatus | 241 comments yesterday I was freezing a little even though the train had was there... but I was waiting for the freakin train personnel to turn on the lights in it lol :D

message 33: by Priscilla (new)

Priscilla | 17 comments The place I read most in on the sofa in the morning and late at night. I have been know to take a book into the kitchen whilst I wait for toast or the microwave!

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) My favourite place to read is in a moving vehicle, followed closely by a chair on the sun porch. The weirdest place I have ever read would have to be my horse's back. Sometimes I will just hop up bareback with my book in hand, and sit on him while he eats grass. :)
