Josie goes to Philadelphia to meet with Stephen Boyd, Gretchen’s former partner. He shares with her the history behind her beloved leather jacket and it has to do with it being given to her by the Devil’s Blade bikers. She solved the murders of Linc and his prospect, Seth Cole, killed by a rival gang. Boyd remarked how deeply invested she was in the case. Confusing or were things starting to come together about the possibilities of her past?

This was one of the points I went back and reread the first chapter. Josie had already revealed the four-year gap in Gretchen's resume, and I started to suspect that Gretchen was somehow involved in what happened in the Seattle area.

I was confused bc I wasn't sure of Seth or Billy's age. So my first thought was is he Benji??? Then when it became clear that he was not, somehow my mind went to ooohhh maybe James and Ethan are Linc and Seth sons that Gretchen has been secretly looking out for since there deaths.... I was all over the place with this story and I enjoyed it!
